I saw my first red headed woodpecker at my backyard suet feeder last summer. Only saw him once. Spectacular bird. Wish I could attract them more frequently. I live in Clifton Park NY and see most of the regional woodpeckers in my backyard. First time for the red headed though !

Ellen - I'd see them in Illinois on the golf courses sometimes. Wouldn't it be great to see one here - maybe even at your new house??

Beautiful! I saw my first Red-Headed Woodpecker in Ohio a few years ago, and it was SUCH a thrill... well worth the long drive to get there!
