The chickadees here at my feeder in Ontario hung around all summer and seem to be adding to the group this fall - even though we've had spectacular weather lately and not bothered much by Irene where I live.
Hopefully all of us get to see our share of birds this winter... crossing my fingers that your purple finches return Nancy - fascinating what you found out about the numbers for the wee black caps...
