I've been lucky enough to see 3 of these birds:
- Florida Scrub Jays at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (June 2007)
- Piping Plovers at Cape May, NJ (April 2010)
- Kirtland's Warbler while attending the Midwest Birding Symposium (September 2009)

LNMP, Lana, and John - thanks for sharing. I'd like to see that whooper sometime. And the condor.

I've only seen whooping cranes--at the New Orleans Zoo, where they have a breeding program.

Piping Plover. That's it. Someday, I hope to travel to TX to see the Golden-Cheeked Warbler, and to FL to see the Scrub Jay.
