A pair of Evening Grosbeaks visited my yard on April 30th and allowed me to get a series of digiscoped images of the male and the pair on the feeder. Here's some of shots of the male Evening Grosbeak. I hope you enjoy.
- SCOPE: An older Nikon Sky & Earth Series spotting scope, 15-45x, 60mm objective lens. It's a smaller scope, but I like the close-focus capabilities of it.
- CAMERA: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 with Carl Zeiss 3x zoom lens, 10.1 megapixel, and a large touch-screen LCD. The Zeiss lens sold me on this camera, and the touch-screen LCD display is especially helpful when digiscoping.
- MOUNT: Vortex Universal Digiscoping adaptor (small). I often just leave my camera attached to the adaptor, which is very easy to put onto the scope. This keeps my digiscoping setup about as ready-to-go as possible.
- TRIPOD: Bogen 3001 legs. Vortex Manfrotto RC-128 Micro-Fluid Tripod Head. Don't skimp on a tripod, especially when digiscoping. I love the smooth movement of the tripod head.

Dale - wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that beak, would you. Added your badge - did you notice?

I like the shot where he's looking back - you don't see those too often.
