A new documentary about the Ivory billed Woodpecker and the community of Brinkley, Arkansas is premiering this week at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Canada.
From the Ghost Bird website: "Ghost Bird
is a feature length documentary about an extinct giant woodpecker, a
small town In Arkansas hoping to reverse it misfortunes, and the
tireless odyssey of the bird-watchers and scientists searching for the
Holy Grail of birds, the elusive Ivory-billed woodpecker."
Check out the trailer here.
Steve Moore of Birdwatch Radio interviewed the film's director Scott Crocker back in March. Click here to download Program #19 featuring Scott Crocker.

lnmp - I think the photo helps reinforce that the IBW was once a real, live bird, and now it may not live on the earth anymore because of the actions of humans. You're right - so sad.

I have seen that photo before, in one of the books about the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. It always makes me feel SO sad!
